Job Summary :
The person hired for the position of Technical Aide will support the Transportation and Electronics Lab Structured Surfaces team. This team supports many 3M products via an internal microreplication tooling process. In this position your activities will be directed by a Senior Lab Staff Member. You will be responsible for following directions; working on complex, high-precision micro-machining equipment; making observations; collecting data; reporting findings and making recommendations. Attention to detail, accuracy and timely completion of tasks are all critical aspects of this position. All laboratory activities will follow 3M Corporate Laboratory and Safety procedures. Training will be provided for all tasks. 8-20 hours per week during the academic year and 32 hours per week this summer.

This particular position is a temporary, part-time non-exempt assignment with 3M's Technical Aide Program and is not benefit eligible. The Technical Aide Program is designed to support the 3M technical community. As a Technical Aide located in Maplewood, MN you will be assisting the 3M technical staff in the performance of their job responsibilities. It is a great way to get relevant work experience that complements your education.
This position is PART-TIME and limited to working 899 hours per service credit year (candidates would work 8- 2 0 hours per week during the academic school year).
