Business System Analyst is a key member of the Data & Analytics team which is part of Business Technology Solutions (BTS) organization, and will manage the life cycle of analytics projects, including business requirements gathering, functional specification write-up, prototyping, development, quality testing, user acceptance testing, roll-out, and post-launch enhancements implementation. Candidate will work closely with various business functions including Commercial Operations, Sales Operations, Marketing, Medical Affairs to understand business needs on reporting, provide visualization recommendations, and deliver analytics solutions.
Review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs.
Document requirements define scope and objectives and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.
Own Business Requirement Document (BRD) and Functional Specifications Requirements (FSR).
Consults with functional areas to develop understanding of the varied and complex business needs supported.
Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and timeline; monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
Responsible for determining how changing business needs will affect the solutioning approach.
Collaborate with MDM programmers and QA analysts to test, clean, and standardized data to meet the business requirements.
Have the confidence to work cross-functionally with various departments including business stakeholders and technical personnel to exchange ideas.
In the events of fluid business objective, proactively identify risks and mitigation recommendations to keep projects on track.
Must have excellent verbal communications skills and documentation skills to maintain workflows and dashboard functionality.
Exhibit obsession with details (in both backend data and frontend user interface) and live in the mantra “The devils are in the details”.
3-5 years’ experience in business analysis or a related field.
Experience in the commercial space (sales operations, commercial operations, marketing, market access, medical affairs) within bio-pharma industry preferred.
Experience with Project Management tools such as Smartsheet or Microsoft Project is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of data systems (BI/Analytics, Data Blending, Data Warehousing, Data ETL, etc.) on process automation and standardization and be able to speak the language with ease.
Experience working with large and complex data set; able to write simple SQL queries to create calculated fields or perform feasibility analysis as part of functional specification requirement documentation.
The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
Strong time management and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of their development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact with different levels of business stakeholders with confidence, efficiency, authority.
BA or BS degree required, master’s degree in data related fields (Analytics, Business Intelligence, Big Data, Statistics) preferred.
