Company is currently searching for a Senior Engineer/Project Manager - with 10+ years’ civil design experience with technical proficiency in either civil, geotechnical, or hydraulic engineering to join the Water Management team in one of our Northeast or Mid-Atlantic offices. Typical types of projects include but are not necessarily limited to dams and reservoirs, levees, floodwalls, spillways, gate structures, pump stations, retaining structures, channel improvements, and other types of hydraulic structures. With the support of one of the industry’s leading technical staffs, the Senior Engineer will support a growing base of projects throughout the northeast and the United States. This position offers an excellent opportunity to a lead multidiscipline engineering team and manage/mentor junior engineering staff. Primary focus for this position will be to function as a Technical Lead and Project Manager throughout all phases of a project, including planning, design and construction for municipal, state, federal and private sector clients. Position responsibility includes, but is not limited to Project management including; planning, analysis, design and construction of a range of hydraulic and civil works projects, managing preliminary and detailed design and construction work in support of existing and expanding client base. Serve as Technical Design Lead for infrastructure, dams, levees, flood protection and marine facility feasibility studies or alternatives analysis, and detailed design. Manage multidiscipline engineering team, establishing and then meeting project schedules, budgets and quality objectives, assignment of tasks and staff mentoring. Individual should be detail oriented, with experience in preparing and/or overseeing detailed design calculations and drawings, and accustomed to producing high quality work and experienced in coordination of work with engineers of other disciplines and collaborating firms. Lead marketing activities including building client relationships and contributing to marketing efforts. Develop proposals for different clients. Client Management; including managing expectations, developing presentations, participation in client interviews and other presentations, and preparing proposals. Engineer will need to have technical engineering expertise in the design of infrastructure related to dams, levees, flood protection system features such as bulkheads, seawalls, floodwalls, flood gates, flood control pumping stations, diversion canals, etc. Position will require working on a variety of projects simultaneously, as well as providing technical expertise and experience on other related projects while providing design quality assurance. Mentor junior level technical staff. Additional Skills Prior work experience with state and local agencies in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic states Experience as a Project Manager and/or Design or Technical Lead, on a variety of projects. Strong team leadership experience or proven potential; including managing project delivery expectations, prioritization of tasks, and mentoring. Design and analyses of hydraulic structures and other heavy civil and earthen structures and preparing design/bid packages for permitting/construction, and assisting with construction administration, and inspection services. Experience in client facing role with skills to include; preparation and development of proposals, managing client expectations and overall relationship. Excellent, clear and concise written and oral communication skills. Functional experience with MS Office applications, with experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus. Qualifications 10+years of professional engineering work experience (post-graduation) in dams, flood control and/or Infrastructure Projects. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with Master’s degree preferred in Civil, Geotechnical, Hydraulic Engineering or a related field of study. Current PE License with ability to obtain reciprocity in other states within one year. US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
